The winery today

We took over the winery in 2011. Already our previous owners had remodeled a lot: Vacation apartments were built, a swimming pool was added to the site and the residential house was renovated. Furthermore, a wine cellar was built in the old stables. This made it possible for the first time to not just grow grapes, but to make wine and to fully exploit the "terroir" of St. Antoine. In the same period, old vineyards were uprooted. The estate concentrated on the cultivation of the higher quality areas. Some areas were also replanted, especially for the first time white wine varieties.

After 2011, the development continued. We built a large hall for our storage as well as our farm equipment, acquired an old wine cellar that we have extensively restored and put into operation in 2019, bought some additional parcels, especially in the neighboring commune of Aigues-Vives, and replanted some vineyards. The goal is to develop St. Antoine into a winery that each year exemplifies the special quality of wines from the Minervois.

Today, on a total of about 45 hectares, about 27 hectares are used for wine production. On one hectare there is a truffle plantation, which was established in 2007 and hopefully in a few years will bring us the first own truffles. Numerous olive trees, some in small groves, are scattered over large parts of the estate. Furthermore, one can find numerous almond trees. Another 13 hectares of landscape in the area of the former Etang de Marseillette are currently farmed by a neighbor.

Maybe our guests have some good ideas how we can bring St. Antoine to full bloom? We are looking forward to your suggestions.
